Nicole Ari Parker has worked on film, television and also on stage. She was best known for playing Teri (the spirited legal) Joseph. When she got married, she changed her name to Nikki Kodjoe. Contractor was born from Mumbai in India she was raised in Nigeria from the time she was seven. She'd been exposed to a lot of travel and cultures from a early age. After boarding school, over seven years London Her family then moved to Toronto Canada where she lived for the majority of her childhood as well as her early years of adulthood. Contractor was a student and an expert in classical dancing in Toronto. She was a student at the Etobicoke School of the Arts, a high school for the arts that was specifically designed to be a school that taught more than just dance but also theatre. At the age of 16 after a decade of years of dancing Contractor realized she wanted to take up acting as a profession. As she finished high school with an all-inclusive tuition grant to the University of Toronto where she was a theatre student with a dual diploma in sociology and psychology. After a single semester at the University, Contractor went to an audition on a call-to-action basis for the production Pericles at the prestigious famous, world-class Stratford Shakespeare Festival [Ontario, Canada and landed the lead role. In 2002, Canadian theater critics were awed by her performance in 92 productions of Pericles. Contractor was given the chance to take part in the conservatory course, in which the top eight men and four women are accepted to take a crash course of 20 weeks in classical theatre, which she eagerly took. The actress's spot in the next production was secured, and she won the role in the play as Hermia.
